Lebanon Emergency

Violence spreads, overcrowding worsens as newly displaced families arrive in fear and desperate need of assistance.

Ongoing Gaza Conflict Intensifies Violence in Lebanon

Emergency Response in Lebanon

As the Gaza conflict rages on, Lebanon is experiencing a troubling rise in violence. In the past few days, Israeli airstrikes have escalated, affecting numerous regions, including South Lebanon, the southern suburbs of Beirut, and the Bekaa Valley. On a single day, Lebanon recorded over 650 airstrikes targeting residential neighborhoods and critical civilian infrastructure.

The destruction is widespread, forcing thousands of families to flee their homes. Many have sought refuge in schools repurposed as shelters in safer areas of Beirut and surrounding regions. The human toll is devastating. As of Monday, September 23rd, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health reported nearly 500 civilian deaths, including 35 children, and around 1,700 injured.

Our Emergency Relief Efforts

In response to the escalating crisis, we have mobilized resources to provide urgent humanitarian assistance. Alongside our ongoing educational programs, we are distributing critical supplies to help displaced families survive this difficult period. Our efforts focus on meeting immediate needs, including bedding, hygiene kits, hot meals, and psychosocial support.

Here’s how you can make an immediate impact for families in need.

  • $5 can provide one meal for a displaced person.
  • $40 can provide bedding for one individual in a shelter.
  • $50 can supply one displaced family with a hygiene kit.
  • $50 can provide two daily hot meals for a family.
  • $175 can equip a family with a comprehensive Non-Food Item (NFI) kit.
  • $1,000 can support daily psychosocial activities for a busload of children for one week.

Your donation, no matter the size, will directly impact the lives of those displaced by this crisis. Together, we can provide relief, hope, and support to those who need it most.

Escalating Crisis and Humanitarian Response

The conflict has severely impacted Lebanon’s southern border, with intense military operations leaving a trail of destruction. The Lebanese Ministry of Health has confirmed over 1,600 fatalities and more than 8,400 injuries due to recent airstrikes. The United Nations estimates that over 1 million people have been displaced, seeking safety from the violence.

Among those most affected are Palestinian and Syrian refugees, already living in difficult conditions in overcrowded camps. As the violence spreads, these camps have become even more overcrowded, with newly displaced families arriving in fear and desperate need of assistance.
